He came to me
I knew his face
He took me to
An unknown place.
He talked to me
Husky, close by my ear
Said so much
I didn't want to hear.
I pulled away
I tried to run
He twisted my wrist
And thought it fun.
He pulled me down
And stripped me bare
And took what he wanted
Then and there.
I never screamed aloud
But silently cried
He finished and stood
And offered me pie.
I woke soon after
In a nicer place
Checked the mirror,
Salt lines on my face.
Shaken, wounded,
I scrubbed myself clean,
Feeling like I could still
Feel my heart scream.
I sat on the tiles
And wished it could be
A certain someone, not water,
Slowly s
A sunset worthy of Monet
Lights up the city
As it comes to life
For this dinner-for-one evening.
Atop a hill I see the streetlights,
Car lights, store lights.
They twinkle in silence,
Nocturnal creatures their foreground tune.
A man jogs by, deep in thought.
I wonder what he ponders
On these dusky roads
As his feet thud a trail in the dirt.
I watch the cars now,
All going somewhere, for something.
Where are they all off to?
Who might be on their minds?
Where are you, I wonder.
What do you think of now,
As I sit in this blue box
And think of you?
Do you know what pains me,
And do you have the slightest why?
Will you list
I had a dream one night
And you weren't there.
I met a man
With boy-blonde hair.
He was nice, bold,
Told me sweet things,
Like how I had a face
About which angels could sing.
Then a girl appeared
Sporting strawberry-blonde hair.
I knew who she was,
But not why she was there.
She leaned in close,
Cupped a hand to my face,
Her lips brushed mine,
And left not a trace.
The man returned,
Moved gently the girl aside,
Knelt down and whispered
For me to be his bride.
Taken aback
I knew not what to do.
It seemed in his haste,
He'd forgotten you.
I left then,
Left and searched
Behind every mound,
Climbed every birch.

They say time and things
For broken wings,
The healing and so on.
Is that what I need
For me to heed
All that has gone on?
Bleed and choke and rape me;
These are all that save me
From the joyous recollection of "we".
You won't do it
And I knew it,
So the one who does is me.
When you felt that heat
From another's beat,
Took that boiling plunge,
I doubt you'd feel
A tighter steel
Than that which gripped my lungs.

Freedom, and so on.

My twisted need
For all that is now gone?

Do it all and then forsake me.

If I came to you now,
kneeling, palms out,
would you invite me in?
Hold me against your chest?
Would you lie to me,
tell me it was alright?
If I asked you,
If I told you,
Would you push me away?
Would I be welcome
on your couch,
in your heart,
in your bed?
You said to me once
that we were friends,
that I could come to you
whenever, for whatever.
But can I come to you for this?
You won't hear the knock,
see me there,
and leave the door locked?
No.
But maybe you'll invite me in,
just to talk,
just to spend the night.
You won't try anything,
you promise.
And then you will.
And I won't care.
When the world stops moving
And the moon is dead
And grey matter's oozing
From your aching head
I'll sew you together
With my suturing hand
And inflate your ego
When I say you're a man.
You'll fall from the ceiling
Alight with blue fire
And I'll fly along with you
Forever chasing our desire.
We'll crash into the ocean
And with our heat, make it boil.
They'll climb the walls searching
And have no ends to their toil.
I saw it in a can
It beat lightly on the shelf.
It was cheap, on special.
I couldn't help myself.
I saw it wouldn't scan,
And then started my panic.
I asked her what to do,
She said, "Get a mechanic."
We left there in my van,
We had quickly to depart.
Off to the mechanic man
To whom I showed your heart.
I sorted then my plan
If the worst news were to come.
Mechi-man said, "No good,"
So in my van, we drove home.
We passed an elder man,
His heart it was in pieces.
I glanced down at my can;
That pain scarcely eases.
I set you by the fan,
I thought the cool might help.
Saddened when it didn't,
From outside rang a yelp.
Out

Who will cry for the little boy?
By Antwone Fisher
Who will cry for the little boy?
Lost and all alone.
Who will cry for the little boy?
Abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy?
He cried himself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little boy?

Who will cry for the little boy?

Who will cry for the little boy?

Love Letters On the Train
Dear Stranger,
I'm leaving this post-it tucked in the side of the train-seat. If you're reading this, you've seen it. I've seen you sit here every few Monday mornings, sometimes tapping a bent, unlit cigarette against your thigh, sipping from your tea (who brings a tea cup onto a train anyway?); sometimes staring at the rain outside, or reading your well-worn, beaten copy of Jane Eyre (I hate that you fold the corners down - it's bibliophilic abuse. I wish the book would papercut you to defend itself a little, but I digress).
You seemed so sad this Monday morning past. Please smile again. I love it when your eyes catch the light of something
I'm tipsy
The room just won't stop a-spinning
It's bright, it's loud
Everyone is a-singing
Their tales of how the year has passed
Their joys, their woes
And of love that lasts
We all raise a glass in a loud screamed out prayer
To new smiles, memories, life without a care
But we know in our hearts new beginnings are hard
We will fail, we will fight
After our trips to the bar
On this night the bright lights are a beautiful distraction
In a room full of love a pure deep compassion
But what happens next when compassion runs dry,
And we find out weeks later we started the year on a lie?
The road is uncertain despite the year change
As my eyes fade to darkness
And my day fades away
You're all through my dreams
With your beautiful ways
My eyes spring open,
All bright and blue
I look to my phone
A message from you
A smile arises,
From ear to ear
My heart pounds faster,
I wish you were here.
From your gentle smile
To your heartwarming touch
And your beautiful eyes,
Please hold me and clutch
Never let go,
Hold me forever,
I can't have you now
But a wish all together.
All this is sudden
All this is true
Forever in my heart
Lies this wonderful place
For just me and you.

The night was cold, but as he held me tight. He was always warm. I sat on him as he sat on the hood of his old station wagon as we waited high on a hill. Headlights pierced the black night as a blue car pulled up through the hazy air. He hugged me tightly one more time before letting go. I rose from his lap as he walked over to the car. "I'll see you in a minute sweet-cheeks". I gave him the finger, he smiled back. He called me that all the time, even though he knew how much I hated that name. He left in the blue car as I watched it disappear in the fog. I stayed, awaiting his return, waiting to slip into his warm grasp again.
His name was J
Like a shooting star, in the dark rippled sky,

Like a shivering rose on a cold winters night,
Clean, crisp & tender;

From the rise of the sun
to when the moon falls
the beauty of nature
a wonder to all
The heart flies freely
like a dove in the sky
like an angel from heaven
shining the light
